Modern Home – Hampshire

Modern lighting design

This modern new build project demanded a clean and crisp solution. Collaborating with interior designer Emma Hooton, design began off plan before the house was built.

Although down lights were used throughout the scheme they were not relied upon heavily, particularly in the entrance hallway.  All downlights were dedicated LED fixtures supplied with individual separate drivers, each with a delivered output of approx 600 lumens.

Colour temperatures of 3000K and 2700K were mixed throughout the scheme.

LED strip lights were used to uplight behind seating to create an accent glow in the snug. Floor mounted LED uplights graze light up entrance columns creating pools of light on the ceiling – rather than just downlights casting light down and producing pools of light on the floor. This method produces the effect of more reflected light into the space.

This technique of uplighting and downlighting was utilised elsewhere in simple but effective plaster up and downlights in corridors.
