Hair Salon

The challenge we had for this salon was to create enough light in the right direction to illuminate the face when seated in the cutting chair – without resorting to wall lights. The owner wanted a clean and minimal interior scheme with as clean a ceiling and walls as possible.

Our solution was to wall wash around the perimeter with hidden recessed T5 fluorescent button fixtures at 4000K. LED downlight’s with a colour temperature of 2700K carefully positioned over the head of a person in a chair, illuminate the clients hair perfectly.

2700K LED tape to light the Aveda bottles in the hair wash area, doubles up as a source of light for this area too. It was important to ensure that when the client reclined in the hair wash chairs, there would be no glare from a downlight.

Zep 1 LED downlight’s at 3000K in the office and kitchen and Astro Lighting Minima downlight’s with Megaman 6W LED lamps to light the back wall behind the point of sale.
